gin festival

Sale of assets for administrators of Gin Festival Limited

Project

Following the collapse of Gin Festival Limited, 20 planned festivals across the UK were cancelled, leaving behind a huge volume of gin.

Approach

Eddisons were selected to auction the entire portfolio, which was divided into three separate auctions.

Ultimately, over 1,200 fans of the juniper berry spirit ensured that all lots  were sold. The press release was covered by local radio stations, television broadcasters and multiple regional and national newspapers., including write-ups from the BBC, Metro and The Yorkshire Post.

Paul Cooper, director in the Scunthorpe office of Eddisons Asset Sales, said: "It is rare to find this level of volume and wide range of gin brands on sale at auction anywhere in the UK and we are pleased to have been selected to put it to auction."

Results

Paul commented that bidders had been interested in the more obscure labels, adding: “We had gins from all over the world, Italy, Spain, Germany, France, Belgium, and the USA. Every single thing sold."

The sale also included outdoor festival bar equipment including strobe lights, speakers, a mixing console and optics, realising in excess of £60,000.
